Happy Independence Day
Good Morning to all my respected teachers and my dear friends. I wish you all a very happy Independence Day. Today, we are here to celebrate this auspicious occasion. This was the day in 1947 when we got Independence; when we got freedom from the British rule. Today on 15th August: 2018 India is celebrating its 72th Independence day and we are proud to say that we earned our freedom 71 years back, which was by an act passed by the British parliament.
We are fortunate that our forefathers fought for us and gave us a land of peace. A peaceful life that we are living in today is just because of their Sacrifices. So many great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Khudiram and many others devoted their whole life to the service of the nation.
At the midnight hour of August 14, 1947, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru rose to address the nation made his maiden speech in New Delhi, “ when the world sleeps, India will wake to life…. And freedom.
Today, India is the largest democratic country in the world. We are one of the emerging Economics in the world and developing rapidly in the field of Technology, Education, sports and many others which is could not possible without freedom. Let me remind you all that winning Independence was not the end of the struggle, it was just the beginning of our greatest challenge and that was to make prosperous.
As a citizen of India,I am Mintu Goswami. I am proud to liv in great India. we are proud of its golden past. We have one of the oldest and richest civilizations of the world. Today we not only need to be proud of our glorious past but also work to make our present and future better than our past. Patriotism is a very deep and meaningful word, and it’s meaning changes according to the demand of time. During pre-Independence time, patriotism… meant to get out our houses and fight against foreign rule, whereas today a true patriot is that person who gives best of his services in the development, progress, and upliftment of his nation as the best human resource.
So that at the end of my speech. I would like to say that we must be proud to be Indian. Not to forget, they sacrificed their lives to get us freedom; and now it’s our time, it’s time to take an oath to do something significant for our country.
What we are now and what we have now is all given by our forefathers; now we have to ask ourselves what we are going to give to our coming generation. So let’s celebrate this occasion with joy and remember their sacrifices…….
